Our Lady the Doula

  1. This was a beautiful read. I love this new understanding about Mary and her servant role, which was (and is!) so loving and tender and life-giving.

  2. Absolutely fascinating! I never knew that about the original Greek! My own doula was such a gift during my first delivery - it's so interesting to think of Mary in that capacity (and I LOVE the imagery of her providing comfort as she quietly carried the New Adam in the room where Elizabeth was suffering the consequences of the Fall!).

  3. This was a fascinating read. I had a doula for my first 2 births, and I would recommend it to anyone. But I had never thought of Mary in that light! Thank you for giving me so much to meditate on!
