When God Says Go

You go...

...because you've said for years now that you felt like God was calling you out west.  Even though you have no idea what that means.

...because a day after telling God that there was no way this could happen and you were letting it go and that if He wanted you to go, He would have to make it happen you got a crazy deal to fly a family of six across the country for $840.

...because you are celebrating a whole decade of this crazy adventure of living Marriage for better or worse and that you got the profound blessing of making five absolutely incredible people along the way.

...because it just sounds like the best opportunity to make some wild memories for those incredible little people.

...because you homeschool and crazy two week trips like this in the middle of September are possible and it will pretty much be the best field trip ever.

...because it just seems right.

You go...

...even though you are plenty terrified of taking four children on a flight and being that family that everyone looks at in fear as you near their boarding gate.

...even though you haven't gotten more than three hours of sleep in a row in two months.

...even though you sort of want to throw up at the cost of gas and tolls and food and lodging and car rental and....

...even though taking a family of six on a trip anywhere means weeks of planning beforehand and weeks of detox afterwards.

...even though traveling even a fraction of this was enough in the past to forego a gifted vacation.

...even though days in the car and staying at hotels with four littles is anything but a vacation and there's sure to be a whole lot of bumps on the way.

You just...go.

(And this is sans car seats and stroller...)

I'm really hoping to have opportunity to update the blog along our travels and I will do my best but I have no idea if that is realistic.  Please pray for us on our family journey!

**Oh, and note to internet creepers:  one peek in our windows will show you our house is filled with thrift store furniture and used books.  For crying out loud we still have one of those bubble t.v.s, occasionally listen to cassette tapes and drive a car that you have to hit in the exact right Fonz-spot to make it start.  Really, you'd be wasting your time.  Besides, we have some big burly men and some pretty fierce watch chickens on duty.**
