Sherlock

Not that one.

This one:

I love him.

We have some coats that were my stepfather's when he was a little boy.  This hat goes with a coat that Michael wears but the hat never fit the boys when the coat did.

Luke has taken to it and wears it to church every week.

The older boys call it his Sherlock hat so now he does too.

He has no idea what that means but no matter.  He does and says whatever they do.  He laughs when they laugh, is goofy when they're goofy, whines when they whine and exults in being one of the big guys.  I don't think he's ever realized he's the little one.  He loves saying baby lately.  When I call him my baby, he laughs like that is such a great joke and says, "Nooo..."

He is such a delight.  He drives me crazy and makes my heart swell with love all within seconds.  Without even knowing it, he can take a tense moment and relieve it with his adorable sweetness.  He makes us a better family.  God knew what He was doing when He gave us a Luke.
Our little Sherlock.

  3. Hello Mary, I just discovered your blog in the last month or so and I think it is great! I particularly like it because I've got three little boys 7,5,and 3. Anyhow, what you wrote about your Luke is reminded me of our youngest, Benjamin - and how i share such similar sentiments! God bless!
