Doula on the Double

I had planned on some posts for the last couple of days but was a little sidetracked.  Not by one but by two births back to back.  Both of them so incredibly beautiful.  And both rocked by two amazing mothers and supported by two pretty awesome fathers.  And by the grace of God and a twelve hour break in between and the most selfless of husbands, I was so blessed to be a part of them.

And wouldn't my two pictures of these back to back births be a perfect submission for Cari's theme today of double?  Right?  Except that privacy and respect and blah, blah, blah ethics.
So, my artistic representation of the photos from the last two days and my unofficial submission for Theme Thursday:

HIPAA approved.

Pictured in father on the right's hand is probably the number one reason why you should all strongly consider home birth.

Fine.  I should probably show a real picture, too, because even though Cari says there are no rules, leave it to me to push the envelope right off the cliff and ruin it for everyone else.

So scrolling through my files how bout this gem I found from back in the day?

You guys.  Why am I such a nerd?  Like Kendra, I decided even before I was pregnant that overalls were THE thing for a pregnant lady to wear.  And then I wore them more and took this picture for a calendar I made for the husband.  That's John Paul in case you're wondering who's cute as a button and yes, it was already into the 2000's and I was still wearing overalls.  I don't even know.  I'm sorry I showed it to you.  Also, hair.  Just stop.

Head over to Cari's for more Doubleicious fun.

  1. I keep trying to sell Ken on the homebirth by reminding him that out house has a faaaaar more lax alcohol policy than the hospitals do.

    2. Wow. Just soul searching here. NEVER considered that particular argument for home birth. My sixth and seventh were born at home...but that's how long it took for the comfort level to be there. If I had only known all the angles....

  4. I think overalls are totally okay if your baby looks that cute in them. And pregnant overalls are okay because...well, because of pregnant. Doesn't that mean you can do basically whatever you want? Who is going to argue with a pregnant woman?

I'm going to point out the obvious alcohol benefits of homebirth to my husband for the next time around. How have we overlooked this?

    1. Oh, I'm TOTALLY all about the denim overalls on little boys. Me in retrospect? Not so much :) Good luck with the husband. Huge selling point.

    1. I know, right? I think it was a tiny bit more acceptable then. I pushed it way past its lifespan. I shouldn't admit this to you but I actually still own them for some crazy reason...

  12. I had a denim jumper that went through three pregnancies, but never overalls.

"You're too sexy for your overalls!" ;-)
