A Visit to Panama Rocks

A few days ago we got the chance to stop at the beautiful Panama Rocks on our way back home from a weekend away with the husband's family.  I'd been here years before in high school and my oldest has been begging to go since I told him about it a few months ago.  We had such a fun time climbing the cliffs, exploring caves, and averting major injury.  The hobbits tracked orcs to slay and discovered elven forests to pass through.  Gollum scurried through the cliffs and Shelob was narrowly escaped. In other words, the boys made themselves right at home.  It's since been decided that we need to live here.

Thankfully this guy was happy in the carrier the whole time.  It would have not been fun if he wanted to be crawling or walking around!

There were even ancient elvish inscriptions discovered in the trees.

That crack leads to a cave where there was a real counterfeiting operation found hiding back in the 1800's!

There are well done clues set up throughout the trail leading you to the hidden treasure chest at the end.  So fun!

It was such a joy watching these kiddos play together and good to get some just-for-fun family time. The rock formations are stunning and such a beautiful reminder of the amazingness of His work.  It was a very good day.

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting thou art God.
