Sometimes you plan something for your nine year old to do for memory work and sometimes you look down as you're helping him work one morning and sometimes you do a quick little math problem and realize that THIS very year is the 150th anniversary of such a historical event. And you had no idea.
So sometimes you have to do this:
May God bless our country and may all those who laid down their lives for others find eternal rest in Him.
I am so in love with this.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Good job, John Paul!
ReplyDeleteWow! I am so impressed! That was a lot to memorize, John Paul! Hmmm...do we have a budding politician in the family?
ReplyDeleteAwesome JP!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Joshua memorized it last year and he would have been mortified if I taped him! Go JP!!
ReplyDeleteAnd did you know that TODAY is the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address? I am sure you did since you posted this today.
Bravo, John Paul!
ReplyDeleteVery well done John Paul!! Ira (our 7 year old son) walked by the computer and saw "The Gettysburg Address" and got all excited! He watched it with me and was highly impressed. He hasn't done anything quite that long for memory work yet, but isn't it amazing what a kid's mind can memorize? Among other things, he has 30 catechism questions memorized word for word and it just blows my mind.
ReplyDeleteGreat job John Paul! Not only did you memorize the words but you recited them with feeling. Well done. :)

Bravo! Very well done! Great job, John Paul! (and mama!)
ReplyDeleteI'm so proud of you John Paul! Well done! I'm so impressed- I can't memorize anything! You brought tears to my eyes at the end with the passion and feeling you delivered these beautiful words.
