For the first time ever we had a photographer at our birth (actually first time we've ever gotten a photographer for anything!) and I'm so grateful we did! She did a spectacular job of catching these few precious amazing hours. I barely knew she was there and when she sent over the images I was so awed and thankful she had captured so much. This is only a small portion of everything she took and of course, I've filtered out the images that I didn't want to share publicly. But even with that, these images are still incredibly personal and sharing them feels very vulnerable. I'm welcoming you into a very intimate and holy moment so please be kind in word and thought and if birth imagery is not your thing, then kindly just...pass on by.
I'm leaving this post as just the pictures but you can read his birth story in words here.
If any local friends are interested in birth photography, I'd highly recommend Tess Butera Photography. Please note that all of these images are copyrighted and may not be in any way taken, shared, or copied without permission.

For you.
So SO beautiful!! Thanks for letting us peek into such a powerful, intimate time!
ReplyDeleteMary, Thanks be to God, and all His holy saints and angels, that your newest baby boy arrived with such a blessed cloud of witnesses to cheer you one! Over in our "neck of the woods" another Catholic family gave their 14th son the middle name "Sheboygan"; their little joke that "She's a Boy Again". Like you, they welcome the birth of each son with love and joy! Holy Mother Church needs holy, faithful men and it's trulywonderful to see young Catholic gentlemen like your dear sons witnessing the miracle and sacredness of birth along with you and your husband! Have a blessed, grace-filled family babymoon!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing these beautiful photos. I love the look of elated joy you have with baby finally in your arms.
ReplyDeleteWow, the photos are amazing. So much joy when you're holding your baby boy! Thank you for sharing these.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these incredibly beautiful, intimate moments with us. I'm totally speechless and a little bit (alot) weepy . What a powerful witness of life, marriage, family and God's perfect design for birth. The images that Tess captured are amazing. I'm so proud of you Mary. You're made for this! I love you!!
ReplyDeleteYou are all so beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love these. They tell the story so well. Beautiful shots.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and thanks for sharing these incredible pictures! I also had a homebirth with one of my daughters and it brought back memories.
ReplyDeleteWow, wow, wow! These are some of the most beautiful pictures I've seen: You and your family are so lovely! I spent many days praying for you, and said a ton of rosaries for you and your sweet boy, for a joyous labor and delivery. I'm so glad there were no major complications. Thank you for sharing your story and pictures with us, Mary! Truly amazing. God bless you and your sweet family.
ReplyDeleteThank you so so so so much for that gift. I am so touched that you would pray for me and I know it helped!
DeleteOkay first off, even your wedding you didn't hire a photographer?! And then way way more importantly, these are the most beautiful pictures. Your big boys watching their brother come into the big world is amazing. I am in awe of the strength, love and faith shown in these pictures and I am so happy for you to have them.
ReplyDeleteWe had one at our wedding but she wasn't a professional...just a friend of my sister's! (We had no budget for a real photographer!) Thank you so much!
DeleteSo beautiful! Thank you for your vulnerability and for sharing your birth story through photos. You’re amazing, mama!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and thank you so much for sharing these beautiful pictures! Your joy is tangible.
ReplyDeleteMary,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing, such beautiful, intimate photos, a pure glimpse of baby Peter's birth story. My favourite pic now (used to be the one with B and all the boys) is now the one on the bed, where B is glancing at you (and Peter), such love. Beautiful. Enjoy your babymoon xxx
Beautiful photos that tell a story all on their own! Congratulations! Hope you're recovering well.
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI really wish we lived near one another so that we could be best friends! On this feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the day of my own consecration, I feel drawn to pray for your beautiful baby and family. Thank you for your witness!
