I totally agree with you, I've found that celebrating Christmas for all 12 days really does make things so much less stressful, and you really get to truly enjoy the season so much more. It's nice to know there are some folks on the same page with the liturgical calendar! I am still trying to get used to thinking this way even I've always done a few of these things like leaving the decorations up until January 6th and often beyond. It had always seemed like such a waste to rush, rush ,rush to get it all done for one day and then have a big let down. I'm always running behind and feeling guilty for not making Christmas "perfect". Now I am getting used to this new thinking more each year and I don't feel so let down tonight. My kids are older so they have seen years where I've gotten really stressed out on Christmas day. I'm still learning, and I mean to pass it on to them and others. I say Amen to many of these suggestions. Instead of attending mass, we've been watching it. My kids are all under 10 and watching Mass has helped them understand what they're saying, why they're saying or doing it, or just notice something they don't normally. It has been such a blessing :-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03198442467337229351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-640846201971673514.post-21373333225287337792016-12-17T16:10:35.698-05:002016-12-17T16:10:35.698-05:00This is a wonderful list, Mary! We do some of these things (bowling with cousins the day after Christmas is a tradition) and our parish is great about saving the celebrations for the Christmas season, but I know my kids would love a few new things to do. The fondue night sounds fun and the idea to keep serving after Christmas when volunteerism slows down is great. A blessed Advent to you and your family!Erica Sanchezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04607232692204295144noreply@blogger.com
